What are you looking forward to for PIDC 2008?
Seeing old friends and getting to know new debaters. It's always
refreshing to see new faces with so much potential.
What do you want participants to bring to the game?
New debate perspectives and lots of attitude!
The Filipino debater is passionate and open-minded. They aren't
trapped in a narrow box and are open to various schools of
thought...well, most of them. They're also brave. They take an argument
head on regardless of how new, weird or strong it is. They also treat
tournaments like fashion shows (I know I did!). Tournaments are like
the see and be seen places for geeks. Hot, eloquent geeks.
You would love to adjudicate ADZU and/or Lyceum debating on something about the upcoming US elections.
The way to an adjudicator's heart is a fresh idea, insightful rebuttals and humor! Oh, and obvious rebuttals. It's not that I'll automatically think highly of you if you give them, but minus points for you if you don't. But really, don't you feel stupid when you miss them?
My truly Filipino guilty pleasure is street food! Especially the 3 for 10PHP siomai. I just wish never to know what they put in them.
